Well I'm definitely not willing to drop $200 dollars for something we could probably build on our own. If you were to disassemble the program file and search through it for the key, I'm sure you could crack it. It would just be kind of difficult and would take a while. You can go to Barnes and Noble and buy a copy of the cliff notes for calculus, and I think you'd get more bang for your buck. Instead of having the computer do the work for you, and explain it to you, you can do the work yourself following the directions in the book.
I know for me, I learn better that way. While I agree that the ideological reasoning is sound, calc software should be freeware and only that, there's no law preventing him from charging people for his work. If you really wan't to protest it, you could write your own software to compete with his and not charge anything for it, instead of doing something illegal like stealing his work.

AaroneusTheGreat, I perfectly agree with your opinion (even if -trust me- it's not so easy to crack these programs). Someone should create another program capable of doing the same things. In fact I couldn't find any other program for ti89 on the internet capable of solving any integral and differential equation, step by step. That's why I'm so interested in these 2 applications. Moreover I already lost, due to a crash, cme 9.0 once, and the society simply told me I had to buy the program again (really incredible!!!). That's why I'm trying to help all those people who, like me, got in trouble, and those who even can't afford such exagerate payments (these softwares should be free, they shouldn't cost more than the calculator itself.
So, if you can help me in anyway (getting the passwords or creating alternative programs) I'd be very glad. Waiting for your replies. If you try to open the programs with MS Word, you'll see some text lines in the end which are related to the activation process.If someone can understand in which way these lines are related to the password and the ID, please let me know. Using a program like word wouldn't work very well, I was thinking more along the lines of a 68k assembly language disassembler. That way it will preserve any hex or ascii codes that might be contained therein. A program like this would take a lot of time and effort, I'm sure somebody will want to start a project like this eventually, but you have to understand that it wouldn't be easy and it wouldn't be quick. The disadvantage of opensource free software is that the people who develop it, like myself, do so in their free time.

I'm assuming that you're in a calculus class or are trying to learn it yourself. Calculus is one of those things that takes a good bit of thinking to fully understand, I don't mean just doing problems. There are multiple ways to do any one integral, and probably a bunch of them would take about the same effort/time, so by using a program that shows you one way step-by-step (basically the same for any problem) you wouldn't be seeing the underlying pattern(s). Is useful to check your answers and sites like sosmath.com have forums with people to help you with any problem you have.
(Sorry about this rant, but my biggest pet peeve is programs that do every little math problem for you). Ok guyz, GOOD NEWS. I've contacted a friend of mine on msn right few moments ago (we're in the same college), and he told me he wants to buy some applications from ti89.com. Anyway, before buying the programs, he's asked the society to provide him some email contacts in order to listen to the buyers' opinions (I'd do the same if I were him, $350 is a pretty penny).
He has practically and unintentionally solved my problem: how to gain the owners' emails. Here they are: [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] To tell the truth, I told my friend these emails sound like if they've been created just to answer his questions.(a scam in few words). Anyway, if they are referred to the real buyers, can anyone now please help me, writing to the owners, to find the pattern between the calculator's ID and the programs passwords? I've never done something similar and I need the help of someone who's much more experienced than me. Thanks a lot.
